I don’t know why we do it to ourselves, but two sausage sizzles and a twenty-first birthday in four days, plus a Bunnings D.I.Y. for a group of us!! Well we survived and the Treasurer has a smile on her face with profits of about $2500 to show for all our hard work.
Maybe we could get by with 3 people on start – up and 5 for the 12 o’clock shift. Please consider putting your name down as it seems to be the same people working all the time.
Our 21st Birthday Party was great fun. There was lots of reminiscing, laughter and good cheer. It was lovely having our Regional Director Jan Olde, Clare Balston who chartered the Club originally and Lorraine Cush, Ann Fox, Cindy Arbuthnot, Angela Marsden and Lynn Hall who were charter members, present on the night. Lance Barrett made a presentation in Barb’s name and it was great that he seemed to enjoy himself.
Now enough frivolity – it is time for Ambassador. The Quest will be held at the R.S.L. on Thursday 28th July with set up starting at 5.30 p.m. Please come along to listen to the students and learn more of our Hand-in-Hand projects. Please bring a small plate towards refreshments. Our judges are Jan Olde, Erica Henderson and Kerryn Vincart.
Basket Auction is fast approaching. Before next meeting please look in your cupboard to see how many soup bowls and spoons, salt and peppers and water bottles you can help with. If you haven’t committed, but would still like to do a basket, Cindy can help with a theme. You can leave baskets at Lindy’s place if you need. All baskets need to be delivered to Sandra Robinson’s house ON Friday 19th August. Lindy needs a list of the contents of each basket as soon as possible so tags can be made. Tickets are on sale from Cindy or Sandra now. Raffle tickets are also available if you feel you can sell some before the event.
Sandra R is trying to arrange a social outing to Eumundi Markets in August.
