We have been very busy these last 6 months, enjoying coffee catchups, lunch dates, Op shopping tours, shopping in general, book club and craft mornings.
Our Pop up Stalls are still very popular and we love to catchup with our regular customers that come from as far away as Gympie, Noosa and Caloundra, plus our loyal locals and visitors.
This could not be possible without the support of the management of the Pacific on Coolum, where we hold the stalls. Also to Sunshine Coast Council and other businesses that support us. A big thank you to the Coolum Advertiser, who always give us a plug. We appreciate these immensely. New stock is always being created, baked, potted or cooked! We love trying new craft ideas, and new cake recipes are often taste tested at our book club or craft morning teas. After the hard work of course.
Because of the success of these stalls, we have been able to give monetary donations to the following:

- St Vincent de Paul
- Salvation Army
- Cittamani
- Katie Rose
- Meals on Wheels
- Give Me 5 for kids – Wishlist
- And SOS, which is Save Our Streets. We were lucky enough to have Ken come to our meeting and tell us all about this organisation and all they do for the struggling locals.
We again made hundreds of small poppies to sell on the RSL memorabilia stalls and helped man these stalls.
Jude laid our poppy wreath at the Coolum and Peregian RSL, but due to weather, our poppy panels weren’t displayed on the cenotaph as planned.
Cindy and Judie laid our other poppy wreath at the Mudjimba Service.
Some members met some lovely ladies from near and far that crocheted and knitted our large poppies to create our 3 amazing Poppy Panels. We literally received thousands and thousands from all over Australia and our members spent many hours sewing these together.
We presented a poppy panel to Coolum Beach Surf Club, who have hung this on the club next to the Active and past returned servicemen Honour Board near the sports bar. Another one will be hung at the Mudjimba RSL clubhouse. More information on our Poppies is in another blog on the website.
Some of our members attended the Meals on Wheels birthday party and also Quota’s Gympie 65 birthday celebrations.
We also had this wonderful website created, and thank Jodie and Shari from Tonic Advertising for working with us to develop this.
To conclude, we have been busy but we enjoy our hours spent together as a service club members, hoping to make a difference to our local community.
